There is a principle of law, that a person must be given an opportunity of being heard before you take any decision detrimental to his/her interest. But it seems that Facebook doesn't recognize this principle. This was the reason why ‘Prove That Gays Can Love Too.’ was disabled without allowing any opportunity of being heard to the Admin. I don’t know which terms and conditions of Facebook I breached, neither was I informed of any prohibited behavior in which I indulged in. All I received was a standard reply from Facebook listing several possible reasons for such action. Anyways, having waited for 5 days it was more than clear that they were not going to restore my profile and page. Therefore, I thought it was the only option left for me to make a new profile and restart the page after losing more than 6000 Friends, 150 Subscribers and almost 1500 Likes with that profile and page respectively.
Still I have no grudges with Facebook. After all it had provided me such a nice platform to air my views and a ‘Fake Profile’ for searching someone special; and truly, this ‘Fake Profile’ had became more important for me than my real profile, so much so that I would log into this profile first and more often than to my other ‘Real Profile’. No issues at all. Because at most what Facebook can do is to purge my profile, and not my views which still remain unchanged.
My only complaint with Facebook is that it seem to be following very arbitrary policy and its selective application. I see that many, many Pages are still intact on Facebook which are spreading myths promoting lies about Gays and are in clear violation of so called ‘Statement of Rights and Responsibilities’ of Facebook. Therefore I have every reason to believe that my this profile too might be eliminated anytime. Therefore I am planning something for that contingency as well. For now my request to friends is to share the existence of this page with their friends so that many who are concerned about me and the Page are able to like it again and hereby establish contact with me.
