Circumstances Making People Straight!

It has been one of the favorite contentions of Gay Bashers that it is due to the circumstances that people ‘indulge in gay behavior’.  No matter how loudly Gays say that they are born that way only, these prejudiced people won’t accept that same and would keeping singing their cruel song against gays. The whole logic behind this type of argument is that somebody becomes Gay ‘by choice’ and therefore can be ‘cured’.  The likes of Baba Ramdev use this to prove that being Gay is against the order of nature.

It may be true to some extent that certain number of straight people might like to take a gay experience ‘for a change’, but it says more about straights than Gays! Why should a person who is born Gay be forced to concede that circumstances made him what he is? I would not like to argue it from the perspective of science, sociology or human behavior. One just needs to go by observation. Personally I have seen twin brothers- one is gay and the other one is straight, despite of being raised in similar environment. I would myself like to give my own example. I was raised in a conservative environment, but some other boys of my age in our locality were raised in perhaps a little more conservative environment than I was. Yet, they didn’t turn out to be a Gay!

Rather, I would say that circumstances are forcing people to be straights. I know many Gays, who know who they are, yet due to circumstances are acting like a straight. I know some only sons of their parents, who are Gay, but due to the expectations of their parents are forcibly trying to like a girl. Personally, I feel that being the only son and gay is not an unfortunate thing and all you need is a little courage and somebody by your side to spend life happily, yet, how can I blame somebody who is not a thinker and neither is getting a proper counseling! When people see the hostile conditions prevailing in society against gays whereby the parents are forced to snap all the ties from their gay children, social humiliation if not boycott coupled with the fear of not being able to find a companion for life -are few such circumstances which are forcing thousands of gay people to begin acting like straights. People are timid by their natural instincts and want to avoid confrontation, that too with the society at large, therefore it is not surprising that many choose the convenient path. Given the conditions as are prevailing in our society, if given a choice, most of gays would happily like to be cured of this ‘disease’ called homosexuality. They would like to be anything or anyone but a Gay. Since a section of sane people know that there is no such disease called homosexuality and consequently no cure thereof, if some people are still found to be homosexual, it is certainly not by choice! On the contrary there is always this fear that a given straight person might be a homosexual who is just forced to act like a straight. My observations are supporting this view that a large number of gays are ‘becoming’ straight due to circumstances and not the other way round.
