Few people truly belong to past. The whole world seems to be moving but they are actually caught in a time warp kind of situation. The most unfortunate thing is ‘they look so stupid’ and still at the same time manage making others life quite difficult. Few such people exist in 21st centaury India as well. Taking names is not important as it is a fight between ‘reasonability’ and ‘stupidity’. And no one can claim a right to possess either by birth.
Few such possessors of ‘mummified brains’ amongst us -humans, are still living in our country frozen in early 60s. To justify their illogical abhorrence towards gays they give age old theory of HIV infection. To the surprise of many, they try to propound that gays are the actual reason behind the spread of HIV infection. They indulge in the worst kind of propaganda against gays saying if gay people are not being controlled; the world can never see the irradiation of this disease. In short they say all kind of stuff which goes on to prove that they neither know anything about gays nor HIV. Thanks to the government educating people (mostly straights!) everybody knows that this disease is not ‘gay-specific’. In fact it is not even specific to homo-sapiens. “According to the natural transfer theory (also called 'Hunter Theory' or 'Bushmeat Theory'), the "simplest and most plausible explanation for the cross-species transmission" of SIV or HIV (post mutation), the virus was transmitted from an ape or monkey to a human when a hunter or bushmeat vendor/handler was bitten or cut while hunting or butchering the animal.”---Wikipedia. I have quoted Wikipedia only as the easiest reference. If somebody is really willing to go to the actual root of this infection among humans, there is plethora of research material available over internet. Therefore if somebody blames gays for the origin of infection, they must be totally oblivious to the unbiased scientific quest currently going on. 
As far as propagation of this infection among humans is concerned, that too can’t be blamed on gays alone! In fact the sole responsibility of this spread lies on ‘straights’. (I want this disease to be treated as human problem and not a society or region specific, but I am constrained to say this due to the hurtful attitude of those people who blame it on gays). People have this bad habit of picking only those facts which suit them. Therefore they go on to say on one hand that homosexuality is a recent phenomenon invented by west, on the other hand they fail to apply their mind towards the sustenance of this virus among humans since centauries. You can’t have a pie and eat it too!
Yes! Gays (being humans) are prone to this disease just like their straight counterparts are. But when you say that it is due to certain sexual acts which gays practice then I will oppose you. Firstly, the sexual acts which some people are attributing to gays are not gay specific. Large number of straights too indulges in such acts and on the other hand, to the biggest surprise of such people- there are many gays who don’t perform such acts at all! So it is the specific act which is more risky and not the gays per se. Further, you cannot get infected by a sexual act if your partner in that act is not already infected by HIV. Therefore these ‘juvenile-minds’ need to educate themselves that a sexual act DOES NOT create the virus. Hence the two un-infected gays can go on to have sex forever without being caught by this infection merely because they are indulged in ‘gay-sex’. There is a saying that an ostrich buries its head in sand whenever it sees some danger (Don’t know if it is scientifically proven or not!). Similarly some people do the same whenever they are confronted with a difficult situation. And yes, gay-bashers are actually in such situation worldwide.
Sociologically one can safely say- if you give gays the right to marry, to have a family, you are actually reducing the risk of HIV infection for the society as a whole. Because what happens in absence of such right and in the presence of stigma is – Gay people marry under pressure of society but keep having a secrete, random sex with whosoever they may get. It not only increases the risk for that gay man, but also for his wife and children.
There are many movies on gays which depict this illogical attitude of western society in 60s-70s where they used to think that HIV is a ‘gay-disease’. Fortunately, science proved them wrong and most of them have come to terms with it. Still there are countries like Uganda where 99% of people are struck with such outdated thoughts. Still there are some people like those I referred to in the beginning, in our own country – India, who still ‘believe’ that gays are causing AIDS! For the benefit of such people let me give the example of a Lesbian from Uganda (shown in a BBC documentary ‘The World’s Worst Place To Be Gay’) who was raped by a straight man who according to the lesbian victim, wanted to teach her playing with boys! In his defense this straight ‘man’ says that he was trying to kill her as she was a lesbian (which is perfectly ok in Uganda). This is not the only thing I wanted to highlight here for educating these people struck in a time warp. This man, infected her with HIV as well in this brutal attack! I guess any sensible person can draw the rest of conclusions by himself.
