One Father, One Mother For All Children

If last Sunday’s (13th January 2013) protest in Paris where thousands of people (may be lakhs by some estimates) came on streets to protest against gay rights, is anything to go by, it proves that many French people and others who derive their modern civil rights by the virtue of historical ‘French Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen’ have totally forgotten the same.

“Men are born and remain free and equal in rights. Social distinctions may be founded only upon the general good.”

I don’t know what general good is served if Gays are not given the rights to marry and have children! Instead if deprived of such rights, thousands and lakhs of human being (my be French Citizen or otherwise) will suffer all through their lives the mental agony of being treated differently and living alone without a family. It is humorous to suggest that a Gay family can harm the social values of Straight family for the simple fact that it presumes that gays are nasty beings and hence the morally and socially pervert, it is a different matter that those who shout slogans to this effect have nothing empirical to prove the same.

“Liberty consists in the freedom to do everything which injures no one else; hence the exercise of the natural rights of each man has no limits except those which assure to the other members of the society the enjoyment of the same rights. These limits can only be determined by law.”

Again I would like to know how do Gay Families injure others? And if they do in any most unimaginable way, then how is it proven that vice versa is not true. 

“As all persons are held innocent until they shall have been declared guilty…”

If they don’t have any empirical evidence to prove that Gays are guilty of any kind of moral turpitude as a community, how can they pronounce them guilty? If they want to recite any example of some crime by gay, what will be their defense if gays start enumerating various sex crimes by pervert straights?

Therefore, it is high time that some straights who oppose gays, first look at their ideals of modern civilization to which gays are also contributing in their own way. Further those coward organizations which are covertly funding such protests should come out openly if they feel that majority of people’s opinion is on their side. Stop this shadow boxing and come out in open. I am sure that majority of people are sane and understand what is natural, they don’t need any organization to define it for them.
