New Thinking...? New Hope...?

It is interesting to see how Christian, Muslim and Hindu Organizations are all together when it comes to homosexuality and section 377. Protest by organizations claiming to represent Christians and Muslims can be understood as their respective religious texts prima facie contain anti gay verses. But my surprise does not get over  when I see the stand taken by pro-Hindutva organizations like RSS and BJP. It seems they are taking dictation from Christianity and Islam on homosexuality. A party otherwise having a ‘vibrant inner party democracy’ did not even consider it appropriate to know the views of its different leaders on homosexuality (and no leader is daring enough to air his voice or perhaps does not consider this issue worthy enough of showing decent with the party). The President of BJP just issues a diktat that homosexuality is unnatural and everyone accept it as a gospel  truth. Certainly everything is exposed now. And BJP should have learnt it by now that using diplomatic language does not work in today’s politics. Everyone (or at least 8-12% gay population of the country) is clear enough that BJP is the single largest hurdle in the way of legalizing homosexuality in this country.
